California DDS Regional Centers Lack Funding & Staffing To Meet Service Coordinator Caseload Ratios

California’s network of 21 regional centers that coordinate services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) was found by the California State Auditor (CSA) to lack sufficient funding and staffing to ensure service coordinators caseloads are below state-set maximums. None of the regional centers currently are meeting caseload ratios for the three largest groups that account for nearly all consumers served. The three largest groups are those under age 3, waiver consumers, and nonwaiver and non-mover consumers over age 3.
