Berks Counseling Center in Pennsylvania is just one of these organizations that has found a proven six-step process for improving performance in just one year.

Heim, Technology Specialist, EHR Systems for Berks Counseling Center to hear the center’s six-step process for improving performance on behavioral health outcomes for CCBHCs. Berks Counseling Center has been a CCBHC since the original Medicaid Demonstration model in 2017. During this exciting event on May 24 at 1:00pm EST, attendees will learn how Berks Counseling Center was successful in improving their performance and building a cycle of continuous quality improvement. Our presenters will also share some of the greatest challenges and successes experienced throughout the CCBHC journey, along with important lessons learned.

John E. Heim, Technology Specialist, EHR Systems for Berks Counseling Center
John E. Heim was born in South Carolina but raised in Pennsylvania. He holds a BS in Information Technology from Elizabethtown College and University of Phoenix. Currently, he serves as the Technology Specialist, EHR Systems for Berks Counseling Center (a CCBHC/ICWC) where he manages the Electronic Health Record (Credible), writes reports, manages technology-related projects, and coordinates with Clinical and Administrative staff to improve data collection for the agency. He was the Project Manager for the Credible Implementation in 2017/2018. John tries to be a bridge between the Clinical areas and IT so that they can implement effective solutions.
Mary A. Givens, MRA, CCBHC Program Manager, Qualifacts
Mary Givens was born and raised in New York and has recently returned to the area. She has a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Administration from the University of San Francisco and over 30 years’ experience in the field of behavioral health and I/DD services. Mary has worked with Qualifacts for almost 16 years on the Product team but has spent most of her time in compliance. She has been the CCBHC Program Manager since September 2021.
