Great Circle is a nonprofit organization that provides a unique spectrum of behavioral health services designed to support children and strengthen families, with special emphasis placed on the impact of trauma. Through specialized programs, delivered by highly trained professionals, Great Circle provides hope to those in difficult circumstances throughout Missouri, Kansas and beyond.

Great Circle’s continuum of services includes:

  • Specialized education services
  • In-home and community-based services
  • Residential behavioral health services
  • Autism services
  • Intensive outpatient support programs
  • Emergency shelter and crisis services
  • Experiential and expressive therapies

This continuum of care is built on a framework of trauma-informed principles, utilizes multiple evidence-based practices, and emphasizes an individualized treatment approach tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each client. Great Circle has an annual budget of $90 million, currently employs more than 1,400 in Missouri and Kansas and reaches more than 40,000 lives each year. It is accredited by The Joint Commission, Independent Schools Association of the Central States, and multiple other state and national organizations. Great Circle’s forward-looking strategy focuses on strengthening infrastructure and service delivery, emphasizing a collaborative culture of high reliability and accountability, and working effectively with community partners to improve quality and access of behavioral health services to children and families.

Candidates should: have clinical, behavioral health and/or child welfare services experience in a trauma-informed setting; understand funding and reimbursement trends; and be a thought leader and partner with the President/CEO and executive leadership.

Organizational Structure:

  • Reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer
  • Is a member of Great Circle’s executive leadership team
  • Leads a team of five program vice presidents and the director of trauma informed services
  • Oversees programs at 19 Missouri campuses/offices and 2 new program sites in Kansas
  • Represents Great Circle externally at CEO’s discretion in key initiatives and partnerships

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clinical integrity of all programs/services to ensure fidelity through use of best practices and aligned
    with Great Circle’s Trauma-Informed Model of Care principles
  • Effectively manages the programmatic portion of the annual $90 million budget, which includes overseeing
    development of departmental annual plans and budgets in support of organization’s strategic plan goals
  • Oversees the development of Great Circle’s trauma informed model and practice standards across all disciplines
    consistent with the organization’s mission
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths to maximize new opportunities or address
    organizational challenges
  • Pursues and implements new program initiatives and business opportunities as needed
  • Ensures services and provider productivity align with client needs, meet funder expectations and regulations, and
    expand confidence in the system
  • Serves as liaison with industry partners and key community stakeholders

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Qualities – Leadership, judgment, proven execution and results, customer focus, self-motivation, high work ethic,
    exceptional integrity
  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related human services field
  • Must hold a professional license as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical
    Social Worker, or related human services field
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management including budget
    development, program development and supervision of program personnel
  • Experience in planning and organizing operational and strategic planning processes with direct experience in
    new business or program development
  • A minimum of 10 years clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct operational experience working with children and families within a trauma
    informed framework
  • Knowledge of national trends in behavioral health and the broader human services sector

Compensation:

  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Range: $175,000-$200,000

    national meeting/conference travel
