Volunteers of America Delaware Valley (VOADV) provides community-based assistance to populations in need so that they can lead self-fulfilled, independent lives. Presently VOADV is operating 54 separate programs serving persons who are experiencing homelessness, seeking permanent housing, struggling with addictive behavior, coping with chronic mental illness and developmental disabilities, returning to society from the criminal justice system, and dealing with domestic violence.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Vice President of Specialized Services (VPSS) is responsible for the coordination, leadership and direction of specialized programs of the agency including responsibility for the performance of programs for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and neurocognitive impairments. This position oversees operational functions of all specialized programs in response to community needs and in accordance with state/federal guidelines. The VPSS will manage four direct reports and oversee a budget of $10 million with a total staff of over 100.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant management experience in mental health, intellectual disabilities, or neurocognitive impairment with knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations preferred. The candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of mental health, intellectual disabilities and neurocognitive impairment programming, process, and funding climate including a working knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies. The VPSS must have knowledge of housing management programs and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all constituencies is essential. Master’s degree in a Human Services related field is required. Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Volunteers of America standards.
