In 2001, an estimated 5,038 public sector bidding opportunities were issued via a request for proposal (RFP) process in the behavioral health, social service, and related technology fields. This figure represents a 33% increase over the 3,788 RFPs issued in 2000, and over a 100% increase from the 2,484 RFPs issued in 1999.
