Tennessee Ends TennCare Coverage for Non-Medicaid Adults

Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen announced January 10, 2005, that the state's TennCare program will no longer cover 323,000 adults whose income lies above Medicaid limits effective January 2006. The plan for TennCare will preserve full coverage for all 612,000 children in the program. The changes will also impose restrictions on the number of prescriptions that enrollees can fill each month and on the number of times an enrollee can visit a clinician each year.
