Unisys To Establish Physician Data Bank

The Department Of Health And Human Services awarded Unisys Corporation of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania a $15.9 million, five-year contract to operate an information service that will provide information on physicians and dentists to consumers. The computerized information service will be called the National Practitioner Data Bank, according to an article in the January 3 issue of The Wall Street Journal.
The Data Bank, which is authorized by a 1986 law, is expected to be operational . . .
