Increased emphasis by payers and consumers on provider accountability has resulted in a proliferation of performance measures with quantifiable metrics for clinical programs (for starters, think Medicare’s Quality Care Finder for hospitals, nursing homes, home health, dialysis, physician, and health plans; and Medicaid’s Adult Healthcare Quality Measures). But what about non-clinical programs such as clubhouses? Although still in their infancy, quantifiable measures related to quality and outcomes are under development.
