Room rates for adult psychiatric beds in the ten largest metropolitan areas of the United States continued to increase faster than other room rates in hospitals serving urban consumers. According to OPEN MINDS annual survey of psychiatric room rates, the cost of adult beds in the ten largest metropolitan centers rose 12.2% from April 1990 to April 1991.
