Partial hospital admissions did not exceed 10% of all psychiatric inpatient admissions in 1987, according to a survey of partial hospital facilities conducted for the American Psychiatric Association. The number of patients treated in such faci1ities probably did not exceed 2% of all patients presenting for any kind of behavioral health treatment in that year. The average daily charge for patients of partial hospital units responding to the survey was $61.48.
