President George W. Bush announced on June 14, 2001 that the agency known as the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has changed its name to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Bush administration hopes the name change will lessen HCFA's bureaucratic image. Tommy G.
