In a list outlining fourteen initiatives to reform New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), Governor James McGreevey announced on May 19, 2003, that the Institutional Abuse Unit will be removed from DYFS and placed within the Department of Human Services, where it will become part of the Commissioner's Office of Program Integrity and Accountability.
