Children in Otumwa, Iowa are receiving the behavioral health care they need through a unique teleconferencing program that allows them to be interviewed and evaluated by Donner Dewdney, M.D., a renowned Des Moines child psychiatrist. Up until one year ago, this was not possible. Otumwa is a small town in the rural southeastern part of the state with no resident psychiatrist specializing in children, adolescents, or adults.
