It is estimated that 8.5% of individuals with schizophrenia, or 252,358 of a total of 2, 953,399, in the United States have their treatment services provided through some type of managed behavioral health program. This is based on a recent OPEN MINDS analysis of enrollment of individuals by health plan type and the prevalence of schizophrenia in the population within those health plans.
