On July 27, 2005, lawmakers in Hawaii adopted legislation that would prohibit the Department of Human Services (DHS) from restricting payment for, or a Medicaid recipient's access to, psychotropic medication and exempts licensed providers from preauthorization for prescription psychotropic medication, according to "A Bill For An Act," which is Senate Bill 1420.
