In September, 2005, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) released the results of its study, which guides treatment choices for schizophrenia. The "Clinical Antipsychotic Trials of Intervention Effectiveness (CATIE)" study compared the effectiveness and side effects of medications used to treat schizophrenia.
