On September 15, 2005, Medco Health Solutions, Inc. (MHS) released its analysis of nationwide data that concluded attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication use is increasing at a faster rate among adults than children. The increase in use has also quadrupled drug spending. MHS compiled the data by reviewing prescription information for more than 2.4 million patients between 2000 and 2004.
