A Control Data study of its employee assistance program, known as Employee Advisory Resource or EAR, revealed that the program reduced corporate costs by $1,075,000 per year (approximately $29 per employee) in three areas - cost savings due to chemical dependency intervention, cost savings associated with employees who experience a major absence and major medical claims, and cost savings associated with improved performance evaluations following EAR services.
