In September 2005, a study of nursing home costs in the U.S. revealed an average increase of 5.7% since 2004. The study, released by the MetLife Mature Market Institute, The MetLife Market Survey of Nursing Home & Home Care Costs, showed the nationwide average cost of a private room is $203 per day.
