The National Association of Private Psychiatric Hospitals (NAPPH) recently completed a study of public perceptions of mental illness. The study, much of which focused on perceptions of adolescents behavioral health problems, found that 57% of U.S. citizens believe that their health insurance provided adequate coverage for mental illness. Seventy-nine percent of those surveyed responded that they would be willing to pay up to an additional $5 per employee per month for adequate coverage of mental illness. </p . . .
