A Florida panel, called Children's Mental Health and Substance Abuse Council, for the past four months has been working on assessing the mental health and substance abuse needs of children in District 8. This includes counties in the Southwest area of Florida - Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee. Three workgroups have been operating within the Council - services, finance, and integration.
