Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston have found that Hispanics with mental disorders are only half as likely to seek appropriate treatment as Whites with mental disorders. This is an early finding of the Texas Minority Mental Health Research Center, one of four such centers funded by NIMH to study why minorities are less likely to obtain appropriate mental health care.
