South Florida Autism Charter School Opens in Hialeah

The new South Florida Autism Charter School opened in the Miami-Dade area in August 2009. It provides an inclusive program for up to 81 children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in kindergarten through eighth grade. Attendance is limited to students with lower functioning who may have deficits in communication and self-help skills, as well as behavioral challenges.
