New York OMH Starts Restructuring Mental Health Clinic Services & Reimbursements

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is starting a multi-year initiative to restructure how the state delivers and reimburses publicly supported mental health services. OMH expects to implement new regulations, rates, and services for all OMH-licensed mental health clinics, with a four-year phase-in of the new system beginning no sooner than April 1, 2010. A key change will eliminate the Medicaid add-on payment called Comprehensive Outpatient Program Services (COPS) over three years . . .
