Health Care Stocks Fell Dramatically in 1999
Four out of five stocks on the Jenks Healthcare Business Report's Stock List lost value in 1999. Of the 100 companies on the list, only 21 closed the year with their share prices above December 31, 1998 levels. According to the January 2000 issue of Jenks Subacute Business Report, companies on its stock list, that included those remaining after bankruptcies, stock exchange delistings and the occasional buyout, lost on average 61.5% of their value on the public markets.
