New Mexico Passes Mental Health Parity Law With Cost Protection for Employers
On February 15, 2000, Governor Gary Johnson of New Mexico signed into law legislation directed at providing more equitable coverage for mental illness in health insurance plans in his state. The legislation, HB 452, sponsored by Representative Edward Sandoval (D-Bernallilo), makes New Mexico the 29th state to enact a mental health parity law.
