Additional Modifications Made to HIPAA Transaction Code Sets Regulation

On March 10, 2003, a correction notice was published in The Federal Register for the final modifications to the HIPAA transactions and code sets regulation. The notice corrects some significant errors that were inadvertently published in the "final" February 20, 2003 regulation. One correction removes two paragraphs containing references to requirements in obsolete transactions implementation guides. Another correction replaces inaccurate dates for when standard formats should be used. The correct dates are for the period on and after October 16, 2003.
