Federal Judge Grants Class Action Status to Ligas v. Maram  On March 13, 2006, U.S. District Court Judge, James Holderman granted class action status to Illinois lawsuit Ligas v. Maram, which accuses the State of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. The eligible class now includes all Illinois residents with developmental disabilities who are unnecessarily institutionalized in private state-funded institutions and those at risk of institutionalization.
