A senior housing niche market targeted towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) individuals is gaining interest from developers. According to the LGBT Aging Issues Network (LAIN) a constituent group of the American Society on Aging, as of April 2008:

• Three developments are in full operation: Rainbow Vision in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Rainbow Vista in Gresham, Oregon, and Triangle Square/Gay and Lesbian Elder Housing in Hollywood, California
