CalPERS Approves Prescription Co-Pay and Rate Increases for 2001

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Board of Administration voted May 17, 2000 to increase certain prescription drug copayments for members in the health care program. The increase is part of an effort designed to encourage member use of less expensive generic drugs and to stimulate an increase in mail order prescriptions. Under the board action, members will see no change in the current $5 co-pay for office visits, nor will they see a change in the current $5 copayment for generic . . .
