Kitsap Mental Health Services Awarded $1.8 Million For Three-Year Integrated Care Project

On May 8, 2012, Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) of Kitsap County, Washington was awarded $1.8 million grant by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for a three-year integrated care project. The project was among 26 nationwide selected by CMS for a Health Care Innovation Award.

The KMHS project, “Race to health: coordination, integration, and innovations in care,” will integrate care for 1,000 severely mentally ill or severely emotionally disturbed adults and children with at least one comorbid condition, such as substance abuse disorder, asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or obesity.
