July 16, 2007 Trinity Closes Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Iowa On June 29, 2007, Trinity Regional Medical Center in Iowa closed its 20-bed inpatient behavioral health unit due to a regional shortage of psychiatrists and physicians. This closure will mean that patients in need of mental illness and substance abuse treatment will no longer have an inpatient treatment option in Fort Dodge or other nearby communities.
