IBM Contributes Software to Facilitate Health Information Exchange On August 12, 2006, IBM announced that it would contribute software technology that supports the exchange of health care information to the Eclipse Foundations Open Healthcare Framework (OHF) project. The software provides a mechanism to connect isolated "islands" of information that exist throughout the health care system to any Health Information Exchange (HIE).
