Colorado Medicaid saved $3.5 million on overall medical costs for 5,200 clients who recieved Colorado’s Medicaid outpatient substance abuse treatment benefit during fiscal years 2007 and 2008. The benefit became available fiscal year 2007, which started July 1, 2006.
