Colorado Medicaid Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Benefit Saved State $3.5 Million
Colorado Medicaid saved $3.5 million on overall medical costs for 5,200 clients who recieved Colorado’s Medicaid outpatient substance abuse treatment benefit during fiscal years 2007 and 2008. The benefit became available fiscal year 2007, which started July 1, 2006. For fiscal year 2007 and 2008, overall medical costs for those who received the benefit totaled $18.6 million, which included costs of $7.8 million for those who received the benefit 2007 . . .
