6% Of U.S. Adults Had An Undiagnosed, Asymptomatic COVID-19 Infection As Of September 2020
About 6% of U.S. adults had an undiagnosed, asymptomatic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection as of September 30, 2020. This equates to approximately 15.9 million of the approximately 331 million U.S. residents (of which about 80 million were young people aged 0 to 19 years) at that time.
The antibody positive (seroprevalance) rate among adults without COVID-19 symptoms was slightly higher for females (6.9%) than males (6.4%). Those older than 70 years of age had the lowest seroprevalence rate (2.8%), and those younger than 30 years (9.8%) had the highest seroprevalence . . .
