CMS Proposes More Integration In D-SNPs For Medicare & Medicaid Dually Eligible Population
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is considering options to increase the integration of Medicare and Medicaid benefits for beneficiaries enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan for dual eligibles (D-SNPs). The proposals affect fully integrated dual eligible (FIDE) SNPs and highly integrated dual eligible (HIDE) SNPs.
For FIDE SNPs, CMS proposed that they have exclusively aligned enrollment by contract year 2025. This would mean that the plan covering Medicaid benefits would be the same organization or a division within the parent organization of the plan offering the Medicaid Advantage D-SNP.
