County-Level Social Risk Factors Associated With Greater COVID-19 Incidence & Mortality
County-level sociodemographic risk factors are associated with greater incidence of, and mortality from, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The more disadvantaged a county's population was before the pandemic, the higher the toll of COVID-19 during the first seven months of 2020. The higher the percentage of racial and ethnic minorities in a county's population, and the higher the percentage of people with limited English skills, the higher the COVID-19 case and death rates.
