Expanded Medicaid Eligibility Linked To Improved Blood Pressure & Glucose Control Among FQHC Consumers
People who received health services from a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in a Medicaid expansion state had more improvements over five years in their blood pressure readings and improvements on glucose control measures than FQHC consumers in non-expansion states. Between 2013 and 2018, consumers served by FQHCs in expansion states had a 1.61 percentage point comparative improvement in hypertension control and a 1.84 percentage point comparative improvement in glucose control.
