Half Of First Long-Term Care Insurance Claims Are Filed From Age 80 To 89
About 50% of long-term care insurance (LTCI) policyholders first file claims between age 80 and 89, according to an analysis of more than 5,000 LTCI claims by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI). About 30% of LTCI claims are first filed between age 70 and 79. The AALTCI analysis was based on data for 5,439 policyholders studied by the Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care.
