The Joint Commission To Add Measurement-Based Care Requirements To Addiction Treatment Accreditation In 2018
The Joint Commission is making its requirement for outcome measurement by addiction treatment programs more explicit. Effective January 1, 2018 accredited addiction treatment provider organizations will be require to use standardized outcome measurements tools to monitor an report on outcomes. The previous standard implied that provider organization were expected to measure outcomes, however no specific method for measurement was provided, and no requirements for reporting these measurements were included.
