Medicaid Expansion Associated With Rise In Long-Term Care Use Among Newly Eligible Adults Ages 50 To 64
Expanding Medicaid eligibility to low-income, uninsured adults age 50 to 64 and not otherwise eligible for Medicaid was associated with a 4.4 percentage point rise in the likelihood of long-term care use. The likelihood of home health use increased by 3.8 percentage points. Nursing home use rose by 2.1 percentage points.
