Nearly Half Of People With Disabilities Lost Access To Health Care Services During COVID-19; 42% Didn’t Use Telehealth
Approximately 46% of people with disabilities lost access to health care services during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency. Approximately 42% of people with disabilities did not use virtual health care services during this time.
“Lost access to health services” was defined as inability to receive health care services because offices were closed or if an open office had very limited in-person visits. Some individuals said they were unable to engage in telehealth services while others said they felt that telehealth services could not meet their needs.
