Recovery From Co-Occurring Alcohol Use & Depression Has Three Trajectories
Recovery among people with co-occurring alcohol addiction and depression has three trajectories that vary with their engagement in a community-based 12-step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) after first receiving about a week of inpatient psychiatric treatment. In a 15-month study of this population, after three months about 89% had recovered and maintained recovery for 15 months; the other 11% did not experience recovery.
