Elise L. Freedman has over 20 years of health care marketing experience with expertise in accountable care, health information technology, value-based solutions, population health management, pharmacy benefit management and managed care. She is currently the marketing lead for Otsuka’s online Nephrology community for health care professionals (HCPs), where she is focused on growing the community’s HCP membership and optimizing member engagement through a range of strategic initiatives and platforms. Throughout her career, she has managed multiple product launches, and developed client communications, marketing strategy and implementation, and webinar series promoting each organization’s solutions and product portfolios.
Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Freedman was a Marketing Consultant at CIGNA where she assisted developing and managing health care delivery system partnerships in the Southeastern US region.
Prior to her role at CIGNA, Ms. Freedman held senior marketing positions at NextGen Healthcare, where she launched and marketed the company’s population health management solution. During her tenure at NextGen, Ms. Freedman managed the marketing launch and execution for multiple software solutions within the company’s clinical portfolio, which included chronic disease management, analytics, managed cloud services, interoperability, community health plans, strategic partnerships and quality reporting. She also spearheaded the creation and management of NextGen’s inaugural thought leadership program, organizing speaker panels of industry influencers at key strategic healthcare conferences and events nationwide.
Prior to NextGen, Ms. Freedman was Marketing Manager for FutureScripts, a start-up PBM and division of Independence Blue Cross (IBC) in Philadelphia where she managed the pharmacy RFP initiative in collaboration with IBC’s RFP team.
Prior to FutureScripts, Ms. Freedman was Marketing Director for AmWINS Group Benefits, a third-party benefits administrator based in Warwick, RI where she facilitated the roll-out of the company’s group retiree medical solution, a more flexible alternative to Medicare supplemental plans, and offered clients a Medicare Part D PDP.
Ms. Freedman earned her MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Recognizing the need for specialized support for people who have lost a beloved pet, Ms. Freedman became a certified Pet Loss & Bereavement Counselor in 2018 and started a private referral-based counseling service called PawsInRHearts.
