Lauren Sims is an accomplished, passionate leader with a clinical background in medical and behavioral health. Ms. Sims is a Senior Associate with OPEN MINDS.
Ms. Sims was Director of Behavioral Health Value-Based Payment Program (BH VBP), Anthem, Inc. Key strategy leader in BH senior leadership team collaborating with health economics, network management and payment innovation, developed and launched the first BH VBP program for Anthem Commercial Specialty Business. Commercial BH covers over 20 million lives with approximately $2.6 billion paid for total health care each year. BH. Ms. Sims represented BH Operations which began in February, 2020.
Ms. Sims’ Anthem career began as BH utilization review/case manager, then moved into medical CM team as a subject matter expert in Motivational Interviewing, dual diagnosis of med/BH conditions and medical UM/CM.
Ms. Sim’s promotions included large-scale change management/implementation projects, 4 acquisitions/migration migrations, enterprise-wide CM re-design for all CM programs, training clinical CMs and supporting medical management platform transition for Anthem enterprise across all 14 states. Ms. Sims designed/implemented several specialty CM programs.
Ms. Sims led marketing associate on the Amerigroup/WellPoint migration team and became Health Promotions Marketing Manager. Seamless migration efforts included Ms. Sims presenting culture shaping workshops. Ms. Sims provided direct line oversight for end-to-end product marketing and health promotion campaigns for the Medicaid market, product marketing for vendors and national health campaigns. Ms. Sims collaborated with Clinical teams and state health plans. Ms. Sims was a co-chair for the Women Inspired Network (WIN) associate resource group.
Ms. Sims was part of marketing team on Habit Heroes, co-sponsored by Amerigroup, BC/BS of Florida and Marvel/Disney. Habit Heroes, a 3-year multi-media campaign promoted healthy choices and avoid unhealthy habits. Epcot Exhibit, e-comic book, and Iron Man/Marvel Comic presence at health fairs. Ms. Sims led marketing efforts for Indiana Blue Ticket Campaign, a direct-to-youth/family campaign to promote child wellness, immunizations and injury prevention. Ms. Sims collaborated with the NFL and the Colts franchise.
Ms. Sims completed her undergrad in Social Science at Colorado State University, holds an MA in Counseling Psychology, Summa Cum Laude and an MBA- Healthcare Administration Honors Capstone, both obtained from Regis University. She is an LPC in CO, and Certified Case Manager (CCM).
