State Treasurer Bill Lockyer announced approval of $75.3 million in grants for new and expanded mental health services. Included in that allocation was $867,425 to Butte, Sutter, Yuba, Glenn and Tehama Counties to establish a new crisis residential program. The facility will be located in Chico and primarily serve Butte County residents. The grant funds will support the property purchase and renovation, equipment, and three months of startup costs. Once established, the program is intended to be self-sustaining, supported primarily by Medi-Cal. The facility will be open to anyone in treatment, accessed through the mobile crisis . . .
