On May 23, 2019, a group of 30 behavioral therapists and administrators of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) office in Northeast Portland voted to unionize. The workers said CARD had failed to address their concerns about scheduling, wages, and benefits. The vote, held at CARD in Northeast Portland, resulted in 18 votes for the union and four votes against. These workers are now part of 5,100-member Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professional (OFNHP).
