This equates to approximately $48,000 in direct costs, and about $72,000 in indirect costs. FTD consists of a group of disorders that affect language, personality, behavior, cognition, and motor dysfunction, over the course of a 2 to 20-year period. Direct costs include patient medical care, patient residential care, respite care, patient medical equipment and supplies, and paid home care with formal caregivers.
