The presentation describes Florida's plans to impose a premium requirement on people enrolled in its Medically Needy medical assistance program. This population includes individuals whose incomes or assets exceed the Medicaid limits, but who due to high medical bills are in poverty. The state has submitted a Medicaid waiver amendment to impose the premium requirement and to enroll this population into mandatory managed care.
