Alaska Begins Work To Separate Department Of Health & Social Services
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) has started separating its operations to become two separate departments by July 1, 2022. The restructuring will create the Department of Family and Community Services (DFCS) and the Department of Health (DOH). As of July 1, 2022, the two departments will be two separate legal entities, but will align their missions across divisions and programs.
